Luxembourg City Launches Affordable Group Fitness Classes at Municipal Venues
Luxembourg City residents can access affordable group fitness sessions at municipal venues starting this month.
How we reported this

Luxembourg City council facilities will run 45 weekly group exercise classes from 15 July across four municipal sites.
Summer demand for structured sessions has risen sharply since the city extended its wellness budget in the 2026 municipal plan, with officials citing increased interest from office workers in the Kirchberg and Gare districts seeking regular movement without private gym fees.
Venues and schedules
The main indoor hall at 3 Rue du Fort Niedergrünewald in Kirchberg hosts circuit training on Mondays and Thursdays at 18:30, while the Bonnevoie sports centre on Rue de la Gare runs yoga and mobility classes every Tuesday and Friday morning at 07:45. Both locations fall under the Ville de Luxembourg’s Services des Sports and accept drop-ins alongside pre-booked places. Residents in Limpertsberg can also attend the weekly strength circuit at the small hall on Rue des Mûriers, operated through the same municipal booking system.
City records show 4,850 participants attended council group classes in the first half of 2026, up from 3,920 the previous year, with each 60-minute session priced at €6 for adults holding a resident card. Children’s family sessions cost €3. The figures come from the annual sports department report released in May.
Signing up and next steps
Bookings open online through the Ville de Luxembourg portal or at the reception desks of the listed venues, with same-day spots released at 08:00 each morning. Participants are advised to bring a towel and water bottle; mats are provided at all sites. Anyone with an existing medical condition should check with their doctor before starting, as the programmes follow standard public-health guidelines rather than individual medical plans.
